“‘Night Flight’ is a concept song based upon physically looking down at the world and basically documenting what I see from an imaginary perspective, a ‘high class society’ perspective, and a middle ground of reality perspective. The song is produced by No Alias from Los Angeles, who also did “Feeling Good” and a few other joints on the album. BROKEN DREAMS for free download coming soon.”

Friday night is movie opening night so there was no more fitting a time to launch the second leak from T.Shirt & Darvin Silva’s Tan-Face Children EP dropping this Tuesday (March 9) in conjunction with the Connoisseurs of Culture than last Friday. Here’s rapper, Shirt on how “24 Frames” came about:

”I’m not sure how I came up with the idea but my whole thing was man, ‘Has this ever been done?’ I asked friends and people on Twitter their favorite films, took some of my own and just went to work. At first it seemed like it was gonna be this huge task but once I got into it, it was just fun (haha). I’m most proud of how the story is still my own and still tells some of my real experiences. Even down to my man Dred from Brazil who runs Hot Mot Films. I used his film debut I_NY at the end of the third verse. We’re going all the way with this one. Expect a gang of cool promotion.”

I’m just trying to see that Snatch and I’m gonna hit that Belly Bad Boy, like an Alien, Girl, Interrupted, then Blade Runner on that bitch, call that Poetic Justice! In my School Daze on the Mean Streets damn right I can tell you A Bronx Tale. Sometimes we were Boondock Saints, some nights we had Time To Kill. Some nights it was Coffee and Cigarettes in Chinatown On The Waterfront, 500 Days Of Summer, Bonny And Clyde, City Lights. But this was no Casablanca baby ! Tan-Face Children, the debut EP by T.Shirt & Darvin Silva will be released world-wide on Tuesday March 9th, 2010 and is the first project presented by the Connoisseurs Of Culture. Check the science in the official Press Release below:

“Over the last two months [Retro Electro] DJ/Producer Darvin Silva, and New York City rapper T.Shirt have been working on their full and realized debut EP together, Tan-Face Children. The name derives from the opening line of the famous Walt Whitman poem “Pioneers! O Pioneers!” where the poet beckons the burning youth “Come my tan-face children”. He’s speaking of the Western world, the youth of a generation working in the sun for long hours thus becoming, “tan-faced”. It’s a poetic and just way to describe the hard-working famous kids from Queens.

The chemistry in the music is electrifying. While only scratching the surface of their combined sound in the last 8 years, the close friends have put out “about 5, or 6 records”, both on original production, and unsanctioned, worldly remixes. Darvin’s penchant for finding the “dirty, rap shit” in say, a mid-tempo french house song is as strong as can be. It is said that where T.Shirt thrives is where he’s allowed to be different, finding new flows, and concepts. That’s exactly the type of platform working with a talent like Darvin Silva brings. Where else can you find a gifted and gritty New York rapper spitting verses on one of the hardest beats you ever heard, by France’s own Mr. Oizo. It’s never been done.
